Description
The Deans, located on Dippenhall Street in Crondall, is a building from the 18th century that has been converted into two dwellings. The east front, dating from the late 18th century, is two stories high and features three windows. It has a red tile roof with gable ends and wooden eaves that are stepped, supported by small coupled curved brackets arranged symmetrically in pairs above six. The red brickwork includes some blue headers in Flemish bond, with a first-floor band that is broken in the center. The ground floor openings have Dutch flat arches, and there is a high plinth. The windows are sashes set in reveals. The doorway is topped by a canopy, though the top mouldings are missing, and it is supported by thin panelled pilasters. The door itself is six-panelled and is accessed by three stone steps. The south gable is tile-hung, with the ground floor walling constructed in English bond. The rear structure is of lesser height and features exposed timber framing in the upper part, along with casement windows.
