Description
Cross Farm Cottages, dating from the 17th century, are a pair of two-storey cottages featuring a symmetrical arrangement of windows with a total of four openings: one for No 1, one for No 2, and two for No 3. The cottages have a massive red tile roof, gabled at the east end, with a front gable at the west end that is tile-hung down to the ground floor. A large central brick chimney stack is prominent. The upper floor and part of the ground floor are constructed with exposed timber framing, which is also visible on the east gable, and this is filled with painted brickwork. There is a rear extension to No 3 made of red brick. The windows are modern casements, and the doors are plain. A continuous canopy, covered with tiles and supported by brackets, runs along the north front of Nos 1 and 2.
