Description
The Cannon Bollard at Fort Blockhouse is a cannon, likely cast in the early 19th century, that has been turned upright to serve as a bollard near the entrance. The cannon is positioned with the barrel facing upwards and its breech set into a concrete pavement, leaving only about half of its length visible. The trunnions, which are the pivots on the side of the barrel, are not visible. The cannon features a tapering barrel with visible muzzle mouldings, an astragal, and a second reinforce ring. The barrel flares out at the mouth, creating a muzzle swell, and the bore is fitted with a stopper.
