Description

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary, built in 1906, is a small structure featuring an apse-ended nave with aisles on each side. It has a low-pitched slate roof over the nave and lead flat roofs elsewhere. The walls are plain red brick, with rectangular openings that have cambered arches shaped by stone lintels or formed in brickwork with half-lintels. The windows are fitted with tinted glass in square metal grills. Inside, the chapel is richly furnished with elaborate wooden fittings in the Baroque style, which are of German origin. Notable features include a balustraded communion rail, a carved altarpiece, a reredos with twisted columns, panelling in the apse, as well as statuary and framing in the aisles and confessionals.
