Description
Byes Farm is a cottage dating from 1718, with early 19th-century alterations. The building consists of two parts. The west side, added in the 19th century, is two storeys high with one window, featuring a tile roof and red brick walls laid in Flemish bond. It has cambered openings on the ground floor, a plinth, and casements, including one old leaded light. The earlier east side is a single storey with an attic, topped with a thatched roof and an 'eyebrow' feature. A large tapered chimney stack rises from the east gable, which is linked to a small outshot with a steep tile roof. The east side has an exposed timber frame with red brick infill, incorporating blue bricks that display the year 1718. It also has an old leaded upper casement and a plain boarded door.
