Description
The Round House is an early 19th-century building that was formerly the lodge to Stoke House. It is a two-storeyed octagonal structure, with one opening on each face, and features a modern single-storeyed extension on the south side. The building has a cone-shaped thatched roof, topped with a central brick octagonal chimney. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches, stone sills, and a plinth. The windows are cast-iron diaper casements, although some openings have been filled with brick panels. The entrance includes a six-flush-panelled door set within an architrave, with panelled reveals, and is framed by stucco columns that support a heavy lintel topped with a recumbent figure.
