Description
The Greyhound Public House is a building that dates from the 16th century, 18th century, and early 19th century. It consists of two sections that have been joined together and stands two storeys high with two and a half windows. The older northern part features an exposed timber-framed gable, which suggests it originally had a jettied front, although this is now faced in painted brickwork. A large tapered chimney stack has been added to this section. The building has a tiled roof and a cambered opening on the ground floor. It includes Yorkshire sliding sash windows and a doorway with a hood supported by brackets. The southern part, which is the most recent addition, has a slate roof with brick dentil eaves, painted brick walls, upper 16-light sash windows, and a rounded bay window set within a half-hexagon structure, complete with a hipped slate roof and modillion eaves soffit. There is also a modern doorway and some rearward additions.
