Description
Chiddingly Post Office and E C Robinson's Stores, along with the attached house to the west, dates from the 18th century. The house is two storeys high and features two windows and one window-space. It is constructed of painted brick and has a modillion eaves cornice and a tiled roof. The glazing bars are missing. The doorway has a flat hood above it and a door with six fielded panels.
The shop, which extends in an L-shape to the north-east, was built in the 19th century. It is also two storeys tall and has one window. The shop is made of red brick with tile-hung sides and has a tiled roof. The glazing bars are intact on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a well-preserved 19th-century double shop window with a central doorway. This window has three sections flanked by pilasters and a cornice above. The fascia features contemporary gilt lettering that reads "Draper and Grocer," and the glazing bars are intact in the shop window.
