Description
Little Bainden Farm Barn is a 16th-century barn with three bays that was modified in the 18th century. It features an 18th-century two-bay addition at the rear. The barn is timber framed and clad in weatherboarding, resting on a 19th-century brick plinth. The roof is currently covered in corrugated iron sheeting. The front range has a hip roof on the right side and a half hip on the left. The frame includes a midrail with intact curved tension braces on the sides and two at the ends. It has a clasped purlin roof with collar beams and curved windbraces, with four present at the front and one at the rear. The original pegged rafters are still in place, and the end walls feature 18th-century framing. The attached rear addition has a midrail, collar beams, and an outshut.
