Description

Eckington Manor is an early 18th-century manor house. It is two storeys and has an attic, originally with five windows. The exterior is red brick with grey brick headers laid alternately, featuring a brick string course and a wooden eaves cornice with modillions. The steeply-pitched hipped roof is tiled and has two tall chimney stacks. Three dormers are present, the outer two triangular-pedimented and the central one curved, all containing casement windows with small square leaded panes. The ground floor and first floor originally contained sash windows with missing glazing bars. A small porch, reached by three steps, has a pediment. The doorway is topped by a fanlight shaped like a realistic eye, not a traditional oeil-de-boeuf, and contains an eight-panel door. The staircase has twisted balusters.
