Description
The barn to the north-east of Place Farmhouse was originally the east wing of a mansion. It has two storeys and an attic, although the floors have since been removed. The building is constructed of red brick and features a steeply-pitched tiled roof with gable ends on the north and south sides.
On the west front, there is one blocked window with three lights, which has stone mullions and a dripstone above it, along with two blocked doorways at the first floor level. The north front includes a similar window on the ground floor, a blocked window with two tiers of three lights featuring four-centred heads on the first floor, and a blocked attic window with two lights. The east front has a projection at the south end, a large chimney breast, and one blocked window on each floor. Inside, there is a wide stone fireplace on both the ground and first floors, which has moulded stone jambs and a lintel.
