Description
The Pavilion Bingo Club was originally built as a cinema in the early 20th century. It features a classical facade that is possibly one of the most elaborate small provincial cinemas ever constructed. The building is two storeys high and has three windows. The exterior is stuccoed, with each window flanked by Ionic pilasters and rusticated quoins on the outside. It has a modillion cornice, a parapet, and a curved pediment above the central window bay. The ground floor windows are also flanked by pilasters with a cornice above. The doorway is accentuated with engaged columns. On the first floor, there are round windows set in moulded architrave surrounds, with the central window flanked by plaster figures of children carrying caskets of flowers.
