Description

No 2 on High Street is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features one window. It is constructed of yellow brick and has stone pilasters extending from the first floor to the eaves cornice, topped with an entablature. The parapet includes a shaped central piece with the name "Hilden" carved in low relief. The building has three-light sash windows on both the first and second floors, which retain their original glazing bars and have pilasters between the lights. These windows are also adorned with moulded stone headings. The shop front, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, adds to the building's character. Nos 1 to 4 on High Street form a cohesive group.
