Description

These are a group of three cottages, known as Step Houses, located on Battle Road in Brightling. They were likely built in the 18th century. The ground floor is constructed of ashlar stone, while the upper floor is tile-hung. The roof is tiled and hipped. The cottages have casement windows. Originally, they were known as River Houses, with the northern cottage also called Prinkleview.
