Description
Pear Tree Cottage is a cottage from the 18th century that was refenestrated in the 20th century. The ground floor is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, set on a plinth, while the first floor is weatherboarded. It features a hipped tiled roof with an off-central brick chimney stack on the left wing. The building has two storeys and two windows, with a lobby entrance in an L-shape. The 20th-century wooden casements are present, and the original central plank door is concealed by a lean-to porch that has marginal glazing. Inside, there are several plank doors and cupboards, including one on the first floor with H-hinges. The left front room features plank panelling, and the first floor retains wide pine boards. The roof has pegged rafters with a ridgepiece. The cottage is also noted on the Tithe map of 1839.
