Description

These oasthouses with attached stowage date from the early to mid-19th century and are located on Marley Lane, Battle. The structures are built of brick with cemented roofs on the two circular hop kilns, and have hipped tiled roofs on the stowage section. The hop kilns, positioned to the west, have conical roofs which retain some of their original cemented coating. The cowls and fantails are now missing. The two-storey stowage section has three windows. The south side is entirely brick, while the north side is weatherboarded on the first floor and the ground floor is supported on wooden piers. The building has wooden casement windows within cambered head linings, along with cambered head linings to the doors.
