Description

The Old Rectory is an 18th-century building with later additions. The main front, which retains its original appearance despite the additions, faces east. The building is two storeys high, with a semi-basement and an attic, and has five windows. There are two hipped dormers. The walls are red brick, with a painted wooden stringcourse, eaves cornice, and keystones above the windows. The roof is tiled, and the windows retain their original glazing bars. A porch with Doric columns sits at the head of a flight of ten steps, which include a handrail. In the 19th century, projecting wings of one storey were added to each side, and a ground floor projection and a two-storey porch were built into the west front. The interior features a good hall and staircase.
