Description

This is a pair of early 19th-century houses, located on South Street, Seaford. The front of the properties is stuccoed, with a tiled roof, although the rear is brick or painted brick. The houses consist of two parallel ranges, arranged over two storeys, with four windows on each front elevation. The second floor features four hipped dormers. Number 1, Honeysuckle Cottage, retains original nine-pane sashes, while Number 3, Bacon Cottage, has more modern casement windows. The first floor of both houses has four twelve-pane sashes set within reveals. The ground floor showcases four later bays, but retains two original nine-pane sashes in the central windows. These original windows are topped with a linked cornice and decorative brackets. A lower, narrower brick range to the rear is constructed in a Flemish bond pattern and features four twelve-pane sashes within moulded architraves. The properties are included on the list for their group value.
