Description

The Five Bells Inn is a building that likely dates back to the 16th century. It has a timber-framed structure that is faced with painted brick on the ground floor and weatherboarding above. The roof is tiled, and it features casement windows. At the north end, there is an additional window bay that was added in the early 19th century, with its first floor being tile-hung and painted, and the roof slated. The building stands two storeys high and has four windows. Although the inn-sign displays the date 1600, the building is probably older, and it was not known as the Five Bells until after 1737.
