Description
The Roman Bath at the Summerfield Estate is a mid-19th century bath house. It features a sandstone and some cement construction, including a sandstone rubble retaining wall that stands about 12 feet high. There are steps on either side that lead to a viewing platform and a Romanesque arch adorned with colonnettes. Behind the arch, there is a semi-circular grotto with a small waterfall that cascades into a rectangular pond, which is also made of sandstone and includes four cement steps. This structure is part of a series of estate buildings at Summerfields.
