Description

House. Dating from the 17th century, Lanolee is a timber-framed building with brick nogging. It has a thatched roof, which is half-hipped to the left, with an end stack to the right and a ridge stack positioned off-centre to the left. The house is two storeys high. The central section has two framed bays featuring angle braces. There are three ground-floor windows and two first-floor windows on the front; all are casement windows. A door is located between the first and second windows from the right. A two-storey brick addition was constructed in the 20th century, both to the left and right; the addition on the right incorporates a first-floor thatched canted bay window. Historically, the property was linked to Cromwell's encampment before the Battle of Newbury.
