Description
The Sutton Tomb, located approximately 10 metres to the south-west of the tower of the Church of St Mary, is a chest tomb dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a moulded base and a scrolled top adorned with a crown and urn finial. The tomb has an oval plan and is flanked by large scrolls on the east and west sides. It was formerly enclosed by a railing. The inscription on the tomb commemorates Samuel Sutton.
