Description
The United Reformed Church is an early 19th-century chapel located on Church Lane in Thatcham. It is constructed of grey brick, featuring red gauged window heads on the front and red brick side walls. The building has a stone-coped pedimented gable with a circular opening in the tympanum and a slate roof. The nave is two bays wide and includes lancet windows, with a later addition of a chancel.
The west front of the church is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central bay projects slightly and is accentuated by a plat band and a dentil cornice at the first floor level. On the first floor, there are three arched glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor has two blank windows flanking a central doorway. This doorway is framed by a stone Doric porch, which features two columns and pilasters that support a frieze and cornice. Inside, there is a west gallery adorned with quatrefoil panels, supported by two columns.
