Description

Beech Cottage is a late 18th-century house. The front is built of buff brick, while the main body of the house is of rubble stone. The roof is partly tiled in a chequer pattern, and there are two brick chimneys. The main part of the front, which is three bays wide, has barred sash windows on the ground floor and casement windows above, all with flat arches. A wooden doorcase features a fanlight and a six-panelled door, set within a surround of Doric pilasters supporting a section of entablature and a modillioned cornice with an open pediment. A one-bay extension is located to the left, constructed of chequer brick with casement windows, and includes a modern bow window on the ground floor.
