Description
The Church of St. Lawrence is a parish church dating from the early 13th century, with restoration work completed in 1868. It is constructed of limestone, featuring lead roofs over the chancel and south aisle, while the chancel tower and north porch have tiled roofs. The west tower is topped with a saddleback roof and has parapets on the north and south sides, along with coped gables on the east and west. There is a round-headed doorway leading to the south aisle and two 2-light traceried windows. The clerestory includes three small foliated windows and two outer quatrefoils. The chancel has undergone significant restoration in the 19th century, while the north porch dates back to the 15th century. Inside, the nave features an arcade of three bays supported by short circular piers, two of which have carved capitals. The pointed arches have slight chamfers. The chancel arch from the 13th century has two incomplete inscriptions above it, and the timber roofs have been restored.
