Description
The Mortuary Chapel at St George the Martyr is a building from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of yellow brick in Flemish bond and features a tiled pitched roof. The chapel has a single room layout with brick walls that include a continuous brick plinth. There are no openings except on the south side, which has a central stone lancet arch opening with a wooden door. The chapel is positioned on the axis with the west side of St George the Martyr and likely served to house bodies before burial and to store burial equipment.
