Description

This building comprises the Olney Wine Bar and Cross Keys House, dating from the early 18th century and subsequently altered. It is constructed of stone with an old tiled roof, stone coped gables, and a flat-hipped dormer to No. 11. The building is two storeys high. No. 9 features a fine early 19th-century shopfront with a central half-glazed door flanked by bow windows. A curving entablature, decorated with swags and rosettes, and a dentilled cornice sit above the shopfront. No. 11 has a central modern wooden columned porch. A small projecting bay window is on the right, and a sash window is on the left. The first floor has three sash windows, each set beneath a moulded segmental pediment. A datestone bearing the date 1717 is located to the left of the centre of the building. Group value relating to its architectural significance.
