Description
Marshgate and cartshed to the east is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof with a parallel ridge plan. The building stands two storeys high with attics, and the roof is hipped to the north, including two dormers. A timber cornice with Gothick detail adorns the structure. The front has a regular arrangement of five windows, all fitted with glazing bar sashes. The central doorway is framed with a moulded architrave, and it includes a six-panel door with an overlight. The building is timber-framed and open on low brick walls to the north, south, and east, with hipped tiled roofs supported by timber posts with braces.
