Description

The Statue of Lion, located on Egypt Esplanade in West Cowes, dates from the late 19th century. It features a seated lion made of cement, which is mounted on a six-foot-high rectangular plinth with a moulded cornice. The plinth bears an inscription that reads: "Egypt Esplanade erected by West Cowes Board of Health. AD 1894."
