Description
The Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1832, is located on Queens Road in West Cowes. It was constructed at the expense of Mrs. Sarah Goodwin and designed by architect Benjamin Bramble from Portsmouth. The church shares a similar style with St Thomas's Church in Ryde. It is made of stock brick and features a tiled roof. The structure includes a five-bay nave supported by buttresses and topped with finials, along with a west tower that has a crenellated parapet and additional buttresses. An apsidal-ended chancel was added in 1862. Inside, the church has a wooden west gallery that is supported by Tuscan columns, and it displays a series of tablets commemorating notable individuals who have served as Commodore of the Royal Yacht Squadron.
