Description
23 and 24 Church Hill are terraced cottages, likely from the 18th century. They are constructed of flint with red brick dressings, and feature timber framing at the north end, which is probably not original. The roof is covered with slate. The buildings are two storeys high, with the upper storey of No. 23 designed as a dormer.
No. 23 has a flat-arched entrance with a window next to it, along with some brick walling and studding above. No. 24 features brick quoins and dressings, a segmental-arched entrance, and segmental-arched windows on the ground floor that have horizontal sliding sashes. The first floor has flat-arched windows, three of which also have horizontal sliding sashes. There is a segmental-arched entrance in an added bay to the south, with a flat-arched window above that has a horizontal sliding sash. The roof is hipped, and there is a stack at the south end of the ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
