Description
This is an electric light standard located near the entrance of No. 1 Eastern Terrace in Brighton. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century and is made of cast iron and another metal. The lamp post features a cylindrical base with a lockable compartment marked "BLEECO." It has a fluted, tapering shaft that is topped by a basket capital. There is a maintenance yoke, and above the capital, a swan-necked, tubular bracket is supported by a metal fillet shaped like a tendril. The lamp has a shallow dish reflector.
