Description

Flowerpot Gate is a late 17th century structure located in Hampton Court. It features two piers made of Portland stone, which are richly carved and include a statue of William III. Below the statue, there is a niche adorned with shell head and foliage. The piers are topped with an elaborately carved cornice and each is crowned by lead statues of winged putti, three per pier, who are supporting baskets of fruit and flowers, all crafted by John Nost between 1699 and 1700.
