Description

Sudbrook Lodge is an early 18th-century house located on Petersham Road. It has been renamed and its address updated; it was previously listed under different names, including The Cottage and Sudbrook Lodge, Upper Ham Road. The house is constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and has a hipped tiled roof with a moulded eaves cornice. It is three storeys high and five bays wide, with stone band courses dividing the floors. The windows are square-headed, set in moulded flush frames, and feature glazing bars. The north-facing (garden) elevation has a late 18th-century doorcase surrounding the entrance door, featuring a fluted frieze and an ornamental fanlight. Original wrought-iron gates and a screen are present along the road, supported by brick piers; stone vases previously mentioned in earlier descriptions are no longer in position.
