Description

The underground passage at Radnor Lodge, dating from the 18th century, leads diagonally beneath the junction of Radnor Road and Grotto Road to the grounds of St Catherine's High School. It features an arched design with niches on either side, which are decorated with various minerals and slag-glass arranged in intricate patterns. The entrances are rustic and arched, with the entrance from Radnor Lodge being partially altered and the other entrance blocked. Additionally, the passage is bricked up halfway along its length.
