Description

The Church of St John was built in 1829-30 by E. Lapidge. It is constructed of white brick with stone dressings and features a five bay nave. The aisle windows are painted and have two light, cusped, "Y" tracery. There are buttresses between the bays. The west end has a central octagonal bell turret topped with a small spire and lancets. The facade is divided into three bays by buttresses, with the outer bays being blind and reflecting the shape of the aisle roofs. The center bay contains a painted window with eccentric tracery and a transom, along with a door beneath it. The east end features a three light window and has a parapet, while the roof is not visible. The interior includes a gallery.
