Description

The Old Packhorse Public House, built around 1905, is a public house designed by Nowell Parr. It features red brick construction with terracotta and colored tiling decoration, along with tiled roofs. The building is three storeys high and has five bays facing Chiswick High Road, with a return to Acton Lane. The public house front remains unaltered, showcasing tiled work and Corinthian columns. Above, there are mullion and transom windows, and a terracotta segmental pediment is located in the center. The building has two roof gables and additional terracotta decoration, including window dressings and balustrades. The exterior is largely unaltered, as is the interior, making it an important example of a public house designed by the Fuller, Smith and Turner house architect, situated in a prominent corner location.
