Description
Stansfield House is an 18th-century brown brick house located on High Street in Cranford. The building is set back from the road and has two storeys, featuring a symmetrical arrangement of windows with two sets of double-hung sashes flanked by one set in plain surrounds, all with cills and yellow brick flat arches. The centre of the house slightly projects forward. The entrance is accessed by three stone steps and is framed by a door surround with fluted Roman Doric pilasters, an entablature adorned with triglyphs and a modillion cornice, a pediment, and a fanlight above. The house has an eaves cornice and a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate. To the north and south, there are office wings with three and four windows, respectively. The property is complemented by brown brick gate piers that feature elaborately carved stone vases.
