Description

The Village Lock-up, also known as the Round House, is a circa 1838 brick building with a conical, rendered roof. It is circular in plan, approximately 12 feet in diameter, and originally comprised a single storey. A door is protected by iron plating. A two-light window is set within the wall reveal. The building’s historical use was to imprison footpads caught on Hounslow Heath during the 18th century.
