Description
The Church of All Saints is a Grade II* listed church located on Uxbridge Road in Harrow Weald. The chancel was built in 1842 by J T Harrison, while the nave and aisles were constructed between 1849 and 1852 by William Butterfield. Further alterations and additions by Butterfield occurred from 1889 to 1892, which included the south tower, west doorway, and various internal decorations. The church is designed in a geometrical decorated style, featuring stone and stucco facades with a steeply pitched roof.
The structure includes a clerestoried three-bay nave and lower chancel aisles, with the north aisle being wider and having a transverse roof for each bay. Inside, there are octagonal piers and lancet windows in the chancel, along with two, three, and four-light windows in the aisles and clerestory; the south aisle windows are square-headed. Notable interior features include mosaic decorations above the chancel arch and a painted panelled nave roof, both by Butterfield, as well as the font and pulpit.
The stained glass in the chancel was created by C E Kempe in 1900, while the north aisle features glass by Heaton Butler and Bayne under Butterfield's direction from 1885. Additionally, there is a single four-light window in the south aisle designed by E Burne Jones in 1881, depicting Faith, Hope, and Charity, along with glass from around 1850 at the east end.
