Description

Grimsdyke is a large, irregular house built in 1872 by Richard Norman Shaw. It features two and three storeys in a modified Tudor style, constructed from red brick and stone, with timber-framed gables and a tiled roof. The house has prominent chimneys and an additional wing on the east end. It was the residence of W. S. Gilbert. Inside, there is a highly elaborate alabaster chimney piece designed by Ernest George.
