Description
This police station was built around 1915 by the architect Dixon Butler. It is a three-story red brick building with four windows. The two central bays project forward and are topped with paired, stone-coped curved gables. The building features brick quoins and stone dressings. The tiled roof has diagonal brick chimneys and stone-coped gable ends. It has two-light and three-light sash windows. On the ground floor, a three-window rounded bow is topped with a stone cornice and a blocking course that matches the level of the entrance. The entrance itself has a shouldered architrave and a swell frieze and is accessed by seven steps with wrought iron handrails and a lamp holder.
