Description
Rowan Tree House and Woodside House are an early 18th-century pair of houses located on The Green in Winchmore Hill. They are two storeys high with an attic. The original building features seven windows, with two additional bays added to the right. Currently, Rowan Tree House (No 35) has five bays from the original structure, while Woodside House (No 37) includes two original bays and the two newer ones. The older part has a slated mansard roof with dormers and a wood modillioned eaves cornice, while the newer part has a parapet front. No 35 is constructed of painted brick, while No 37 is roughcast. Both houses feature mid-19th-century moulded stucco architraves around sash windows with vertical bars, and the original segmental brick window arches are still visible. Each house has six-panel doors set in moulded architraves, with doorcases that include fluted pilasters and dentilled cornice hoods supported by carved consoles.
