Description
Robin Hood Cottages is a house that has been converted into two cottages, dating from the early 17th century and altered over time. The building is timber-framed, with a plastered and painted exterior, and features a steeply pitched pantiled roof that extends to the eaves. It has two storeys and is two windows wide, with an entrance located between the windows and a 20th-century entrance on the left side. The windows are square-headed and also from the 20th century. There are substantial stacks at both ends of the building. Inside, some of the timber framing is exposed, and there is an open fireplace with a fire beam on the left end. The upstairs hearths are supported by coving above the fireplaces at both ends of the house. The interior includes 17th and 18th-century planked doors with early ironmongery, as well as simple early tongue and groove panelling.
