Description

Cookham Dene is a house of circa 1882, designed by the architect Sir Aston Webb. It is an irregular composition of two storeys and attics. The ground floor is brick, while the first floor is clad in tiles, including some curved examples. The steeply pitched tiled roof has two gables facing north; one is half-timbered and the other is roughcast. The house features large, clustered red brick chimney stacks. The windows are arranged irregularly, including both casement and sash windows. The main doorcase, located on the north front, is set within an arched surround under the half-timbered gable. A wooden verandah is present on the south elevation.
