Description

Morley Cottage, Holly Cottage, Yew Tree House, and Nant Gwyn were built in 1878 by Ernest George and his partners. The buildings are two storeys in height. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor is tile-hung with some curved tiles. The north-east facing front elevation has a tiled roof with two large gables, the upper portions of which are tile-hung with eclectic pseudo timber-framing. The left side gable features curved braces, and the right side gable has a combination of curved and diagonal braces. Each gable has an oriel window with square wooden panes and elaborate pargeting incorporating Neo-Jacobean motifs below. The remaining windows are casements. The doorcases are simple in design. The buildings are listed for their group value.
