Description
Number 8, Linnell Close is a two-storey house built in the mid-20th century. Designed by architects C.M. Crickmer and Allen Foxley, it has five windows and features sash windows with shutters on the ground floor. The front door is framed by a surround similar to that of number 1 opposite, although boxed in wood, and incorporates a fanlight which is now set behind a small pediment. Two two-light dormers with flat roofs are positioned on the roof. The design of number 8 aims to be consistent with number 1 opposite. While of a less distinguished architectural quality than other buildings in the area, numbers 1 and 8 are included in the listing due to the striking overall layout of Linnell Close.
