Description
Nos 11 and 13 Heathgate is a pair of houses designed by the architect Edwin Lutyens, intended to resemble one long, low Georgian country town house. Built in the 20th century, they are two storeys high and feature the characteristic Lutyens centre glazing bar, although they do not strongly reflect his style otherwise. The buildings are L-shaped, with No 13 projecting slightly. They have a bed mould cornice at the eaves, and the projection is accentuated with pilasters at the corners made of red brick. The ground floor windows are sash style and have exterior louvred shutters. The doorcases are framed with bolection moulded architraves set against plain surrounds, and a small cornice hood supported by mutules can be found above. Notably, the doorcase of No 11 is more elaborately decorated than that of No 13.
