Description
West Lodge is located in the corner of Crescent Gardens and was built in 1812 by John Nash as part of his Regent's Park development. This lodge is designed in a four-square Greek Doric style and is a single-storey structure made of stucco with a slate roof. It is positioned at the junction with Marylebone Road, balancing its twin lodge to the east. Each of the four faces features either a window or a doorway, with recessed glazing bar sashes and a doorway framed by Greek Doric columns in antis. A continuous entablature with shallow pediments is set against a blocking course above each aediculed face. The design is identical to the lodges found in Park Square.
