Description
South West Lodge is a lodge built between 1812 and 1825 by John Nash as part of his Regent's Park Crown Estate development. It was repositioned in 1961. The lodge is made of stucco and has a slate roof. It features a square Greek Doric pavilion with a small northeast wing added, balancing its twin southeast lodge. The lodge is located in the corner of the square garden at the junction with Marylebone Road and is a single storey structure. Each face has one window, with recessed glazing bar sashes framed by Greek Doric columns in antis. There is a continuous entablature with shallow pediments over each aediculed face, making it identical to the lodges at Park Crescent.
